Ms. Dixon is an English Language Arts Teacher at the Historic Booker T. Washington High School. She is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and as a result is an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints football franchise. Ms. Dixon credits her grandmother with igniting her passion for learning and reading.
Ms. Dixon loves learning, thus teaching. She uses her experiences from travels around the world to assist students in understanding the literature she teaches in her classroom. Ms. Dixon wants her students to know that within themselves lies the capacity to do and be anything and that the answers to life's most challenging questions, lie within themselves. |

American LiteratureDesigned for Eleventh Grade students, or accelerated Tenth Grade students, this course explores the litany of the American literary tradition, from that of Native Americans to modern American authors.

AP Language & CompositionAs part of College Board's Advanced Placement program, this courses offers students an opportunity to take an examination for credit in a college- level English course. This course is a writing intensive course, focusing upon the rhetorical analysis of non- fiction texts.
